Rev. Chuck Smith - Youth Pastor |
I was born in Los Angeles, California, and have been in ministry since 1990. Born and raised in a Christian home, my dad was a youth minister and later a senior pastor. Over the years, I have served as pastor of children’s church, Sunday school teacher, Jr. deacon, and associate minister at Shackleford Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ, where I was also ordained in 1996. In addition to serving in the church, I worked as a funeral director from 1993-2005, at which time I relocated to Texas and joined the Servant House. My wife Dawnea and I have three children, who are currently 13, 8, and 2. |
As youth pastor at the Servant House, my vision is to provide stability, community (common unity), and healing to our youth. By providing a stable environment and a schedule filled with God’s Word, community projects and fun, they have opportunities to talk through their issues and develop working relationships with people from different backgrounds. I see children from nursery through high school all needing to step outside of themselves and see things through God’s eyes as they advance in life. As youth pastor at the Servant House, God has prepared me to help prepare them for their future. |
